Islands Best Utah

Islands Best is a youth football organization deeply rooted in the Polynesian and West Coast football communities. They are best known for hosting and organizing the Polynesian Youth Bowl in Mesquite, NV.

Islands Best Utah is the official state chapter of the national Islands Best network. This website is the central information hub for Utah youth football coaches, players, and families looking to compete in the annual Polynesian Youth Bowl.

Players & Parents

Player Selection & Roster

Roster spots are earned based on talent, development, and team fit, with full authority placed in the hands of our coaching staffs.

  • How Teams Are Built: Coaches form their teams through a combination of scouting local regular-season games and hosting independent team tryouts.

  • Outside Player Inquiries: Players looking to join an Islands Best Utah roster should submit a Player Interest Form. These profiles are made available to our head coaches who are actively looking to fill open roster spots.

Polynesian Youth Bowl

Coaches, players, and families should plan to attend the Polynesian Youth Bowl. Families are responsible for coordinating transportation and lodging.

  • Cost: $175 Registration Fee plus transportation and lodging

Age Deadline: July 1st

The age of the player on July 1st of the current competitive year determines their division. No exceptions.

Division Eligibility Rule

9U Player must be 9 years old or younger on July 1st.

10U Player must be 10 years old or younger on July 1st.

11U Player must be 11 years old or younger on July 1st.

12U Player must be 12 years old or younger on July 1st.

14U Player must be 14 years old or younger on July 1st.

Practices

  • Coach’s Discretion: Practice schedules, field locations, and times are determined entirely by each individual team's head coach.

  • General Commitment: On average, teams practice once a week. This allows players to sharpen their skills and install tournament playbooks without conflicting with other obligations.
